NEW HAIR CARE BASICS

1. Always comb your unit or bundles starting from the bottom with a wide tooth comb.

2. Wash hair in warm water with a moisturizing shampoo (Argan Oil preferably).

3. Condition hair with a moisturizing conditioner (Argan Oil preferably).

4. Rinse thoroughly.

5. Air dry hair for a gentle kiss from nature (preferably on a mannequin).

6. Before bed: Always wrap neatly in sections and secure in a silky bonnet or remove unit and place securely on a wig head/stand.

With proper care like you would care for your own natural hair, the unit/bundles should last for a year or more.

TANGLED, DRY, SHEDDING MATTED, OR ROUGH WEAVE? REVIVE IT IN 5 EASY STEPS!

Detangle

Tangled weave/wig is caused by many things but curly hair tends to tangle the most. It'll take some patience and dedication to detangle a fully tangled hair, but with a wide-tooth comb and some optimism, an old weave can be revived with heavy duty detangling and Silicon treatment.

A wide tooth comb instead of a paddle brush will prevent excessive breakage, especially while wet as losing hair during this process is inevitable. Always start detangling from the ends and slowly work your way up. When you come across a knot, dont tug it loose, use your fingers to loosen the knot and continue detangling with your comb. Once your weave has been properly detangled, you can move on to the next step.

Moisturize

We recommend using a wide tooth comb on your units and combing from the bottom working your way up gently in small sections at a time. Do not use excessive force when combing/brushing as that may cause more hair loss. We do advise clients to not use any form of brushes at all as this will weaken the strand and eventually cause the unit to excessively shed and reduce years of usage.

Do not scratch your scalp with your fingers or a comb through your unit as this will cause shedding, instead pat your head with your hands or remove your unit and treat your scalp with shampoo and conditioner followed by moisturizing your scalp with essential and light oils or hair grease to prevent itching.

ACV Rinse

The purpose of an ACV rinse is to restore proper pH balances to your hair strands. When the pH balances are off, your weave/wig will quickly go from "flawless" to "flawed" in a flash. Virgin/remy hair is soft and shiny when you first buy it because the hair cuticles are fully sealed. But as you begin to use the product frequently, the hair cuticles will slowly begin to breakdown until it's no longer there. Since apple cider vinegar has a lower pH balance of 3.5, the rinse will help lower the overall pH balance of your weave which is probably around ~5 and help reseal the hair cuticle.

Ready to try it? Mix 1 part Apple Cider Vinegar with 3 parts water in a larger bowl and fully immerse your lace wig/weave.  Leave the rinse in for 45 minutes to 1 hour and then rinse it out with water. Proceed to deep condition the hair.

Deep Condition

While deep conditioning is an essential step in any hair routine, it's one of the most crucial steps in reviving a weave/wig. There are many unorthodox methods you can find on YouTube that may or may not work for you but skip this step at your own risk. Deep conditioning is like a mini spa facial for your hair. Deep conditioning opens up your hair follicles/cuticles to deeply penetrate the strands bringing back the softness your weave/wig once had. For the purpose of revival, we recommend grabbing a moisture-based conditioner like Mielle's Pomegranate & Honey Moisturizing and Detangling Conditioner or the Pomegranate & Honey Leave-In Conditioner, then use your wide-tooth comb to evenly distribute the product throughout your hair.

Bleach Bath & Condition

A bleach bath on your weave is an effective way to make it feel brand new again but we recommend only doing this if all else above fails. This step requires the use of chemicals and a chemical burn is very possible if you have no idea what you are doing. Find a sturdy pair of latex gloves and watch a detailed YouTube tutorial to properly show you how to do it on your hair. When done, follow with an overnight treatment with Silicon conditioner.
